Editorial Information of the Proceedings of the 2nd Brazilian Congress on 'Climate Change and Urban Resilience
Abstract
This special edition of Scientific Journal ANAP (Vol. 3, No. 13, 2025) presents the Proceedings of the 2nd Brazilian Congress on “Climate Change and Urban Resilience”, the result of an institutional collaboration between the Associação Amigos da Natureza da Alta Paulista (ANAP) and the Graduate Program – Academic Master’s in Architecture and Urbanism at UNIVAG – Centro Universitário. The congress aimed to broaden the debate on the challenges posed by climate change in urban contexts, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging the development of innovative solutions for the sustainable growth of Brazilian cities. The overall coordination of the event and the editorial organization of this publication were carried out by professors Jeane Aparecida Rombi de Godoy, Sandra Medina Benini, Natallia Sanches e Souza, and Angelo Palmisano, who worked in close collaboration to ensure the academic quality and editorial consistency of the papers presented.
The congress was made possible through the support of institutional partners, particularly ANAP, a nonprofit civil society organization founded in 2003 dedicated to environmental education, and UNIVAG’s Graduate Program, which is committed to the critical and interdisciplinary training of researchers and professionals in the fields of architecture and urbanism. These institutions provided the technical and academic foundation necessary for the success of the event and the editorial curation of this volume.
The scientific quality of the proceedings was guaranteed by a scientific committee composed of researchers from various universities and research centers across Brazil, with recognized expertise in urban planning, architecture, environmental studies, territorial development, and public policy. The institutional and regional diversity of this committee enabled a rigorous and interdisciplinary review of the submitted articles, contributing to the thematic and methodological consistency of the published texts. This publication reaffirms the commitment of the organizing institutions to fostering a critical, plural, and qualified dialogue on possible pathways toward building fairer, more resilient, and sustainable cities in the face of ongoing climate transformations.
