Abstract

Objetivo - Analisar as perceções de estudantes do ensino superior sobre o potencial da integração do Programa Eco-Escolas numa unidade curricular de Espanhol para promover educação ambiental e cidadania sustentável
Metodologia - Desenvolveu-se um estudo exploratório-descritivo, de natureza mista, com 81 estudantes do ensino superior em Portugal, recorrendo a questionário com questões fechadas e abertas aplicado após uma experiência pedagógica; os dados foram tratados por estatística descritiva e análise temática, com triangulação interpretativa 
Originalidade/relevância - O estudo responde à escassez de investigação sobre a integração curricular do Eco-Escolas em unidades curriculares de línguas no ensino superior português, evidenciando a pertinência de trabalhar sustentabilidade numa área não tradicionalmente “verde”.
Resultados - Verificou-se concordância positiva elevada em todas as dimensões analisadas (81,5%–96,3%), destacando-se o reconhecimento da importância da educação ambiental, o interesse por temáticas de sustentabilidade e a valorização do contributo do programa para valores éticos e sustentáveis; qualitativamente, predominou uma perceção favorável, embora acompanhada por reservas sobre operacionalização didática e equilíbrio curricular.
Contribuições teóricas/metodológicas - O estudo reforça a educação linguística como espaço legítimo de formação para a sustentabilidade e demonstra a utilidade de combinar dados quantitativos e qualitativos na análise de perceções estudantis.
Contribuições sociais e ambientais - Os achados evidenciam potencial para fortalecer consciência ambiental, responsabilidade cidadã e integração pedagógica da sustentabilidade no ensino superior, em contextos curriculares participativos, reflexivos, socialmente relevantes e orientados para uma ação transformadora coletiva.
