ABSTRACT
To investigate the impacts of the State Forest Policy on the development of the economy in Acre, with emphasis on the extractive production of açaí (Euterpe precatória) from the database, maintained by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), on the Gross Production Value, VBP, of the açaí marketed in Acre over a 30 year historical series, it was possible to detail the importance of the PEF, considering, in methodological terms, two periods: pre-politics, which preceded the 2000s, and post- policy, which runs from 2001 to 2018. The analysis is complemented by an assessment of the production of açaí in four municipalities selected for being considered of greater relevance. At the end, the relationship between the behavior of the annual rate of deforestation and forest production is also discussed.
