ARTICLE APPROVAL STAGES

The evaluation process of articles submitted to the Latin American Journal of Built Environment & Sustainability will be carried out in four stages, with the goal of reaching a final decision on publication within up to 120 (one hundred and twenty) days.

  • Stage I – Screening (Editor-in-Chief)
Analysis of the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s editorial scope and its potential for publication.

  • Stage II – Preliminary Analysis (Associate Editor)
The manuscript must be original and unpublished. It will be submitted to plagiarism-detection software (Plagius or Turnitin® – plagiarism prevention) in order to identify any suspicion of plagiarism in documents available on the Internet.

  • Stage III – Peer Review Process (Scientific Committee)
Double-blind peer review: analysis of the article by two expert reviewers, who will provide comments, indicate the need for revisions, and recommend either publication or rejection.
This stage may involve multiple rounds of review, aimed at improving the quality of the manuscript. The editorial board may add suggestions to the reviewers’ evaluations to better align the article with the journal’s scope.

  • Stage IV – Finalization Process (Associate Editor)
After acceptance, authors must send the final version of the article (in Portuguese and English) and the required declarations to the e-mail address editoraanap@gmail.com.
