Although the factorial analysis required by the Q-Methodology is reserved for a later stage, this article presents partial results from data collection and initial reflections on the discourses.

Originality/Relevance – Indicate the theoretical gap the study addresses and present the academic relevance of the topic.

Results – The research revealed consensus among stakeholders regarding the role of PES in the conservation and sociocultural valorization of the Pantanal, as well as divergences concerning its economic mechanisms, funding sources, and implementation strategies.

Theoretical/Methodological Contributions – Reinforces the applicability of the Q-Methodology in the analysis of environmental discourses.

Social and Environmental Contributions – The findings are expected to provide insights for the development of state-level public polices and contribute to the design of more effective and socially responsive environmental policies.
