Objective: To conduct a systematic review on management in Brazilian agro-industries, describing financial, sustainable, and family farming approaches in order to promote discussions and build a comprehensive overview of the topic.
Methodology: A search was carried out in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, covering the period from 2006 to 2023, focusing on scientific articles addressing management in Brazilian agro-industries.
Originality/relevance: The study consolidates information on different management approaches in national agro-industries, highlighting gaps related to technical-economic indicators and the inclusion of family farming in management discussions.
Results: Of the 27 analyzed articles, 14 did not address technical-economic indicators such as costs, revenues, or profits, while 18 discussed sustainability issues. Family farming appeared in six studies, showing that this topic still requires deeper exploration.
Theoretical/methodological contributions: This research provides an updated overview of the state of the art on management in Brazilian agro-industries, assisting in the identification of trends and future research directions.
Social and environmental contributions: The results emphasize the growing relevance of sustainability in agro-industrial chains and highlight family farming as an important social and productive actor in the sector.
