Objective – To analyze specific landscapes of the municipality of Bauru through observation and the senses, enabling the understanding of urban layers and their analysis by means of a physical prototype.
Methodology – Development of parameters that divide the urban landscape into layers based on literature reviews of authors and researchers in the field.
Originality/relevance – To create an innovative and easily understandable method through layers, allowing the interweaving of different elements in a simple and fast way, thus providing a better understanding of contemporary city landscapes.
Results – Development of four handmade prototypes, where the observer can actively interact with the landscape of Bauru, adding or changing the sequence of layers in order to understand how each element impacts the landscape, and, most importantly, raising questions about how individual actions reverberate in the collective perception of the city.
Theoretical/methodological contributions – The possibilities of practically and empirically visualizing the interaction among urban elements discussed by reference authors.
Social and environmental contributions – The prototypes enabled a new way of seeing and analyzing landscapes, contributing to city planning in a more qualitative and humanized way.
