The Technical and Scientific Journal Cidades Verdes is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific works in the fields of Architecture, Urbanism, and Sustainability, with an emphasis on empirical, experimental, or conceptual research. The journal aims to advance scientific and technical knowledge in these areas, highlighting rigorous investigations that contribute to the sustainable development of cities.

The journal’s scope is centered on Architecture and Urbanism, encompassing a wide range of specific themes. Topics of interest include the preservation and management of Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs) in urban environments, urban forestry, and the concept of the sustainable city. Studies on urban ecological structures, green infrastructure in contemporary cities, and urban landscaping are equally welcome.

Additionally, the journal is interested in research addressing sustainable environmental planning and management, sustainable urban mobility, environmental planning, and urban landscape planning. Preservation of historical and landscape heritage, the formulation of urban and environmental projects, as well as urban projects adapted to climate change, are key topics.

Methodologies for urban landscape requalification, recovery of degraded urban areas, open space systems, nature-based solutions for urban resilience, and innovations in technology and bioconstruction complement the journal’s scope, reinforcing its commitment to promoting sustainable urbanism.

Peer Review Process

Each manuscript will be sent to two reviewers. If there is a divergence in the evaluations, the manuscript will be submitted to a third reviewer. The final decision regarding publication rests with the editorial board.

  2. Authors’ Responsibilities:
    Authors submitting to Cidades Verdes must ensure that their manuscripts are original, have not been simultaneously submitted to other journals, and that all co-authors have significantly contributed to the research and approved the final version of the article. Authors must also be willing to cooperate during the peer review process by responding promptly to editorial requests. In the event of a significant error or unethical practice identified after publication, authors must work with the editorial team to correct or retract the work, as appropriate.

  3. Reviewers’ Duties:
    Reviewers play a key role in maintaining the scientific quality of Cidades Verdes. They are responsible for providing objective and confidential evaluations of manuscripts, contributing to the editorial decision-making process. Reviewers should decline to evaluate manuscripts where a potential conflict of interest exists and must alert editors to any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and another work already published or submitted. Confidentiality of manuscript content must be maintained at all times.

  4. Publisher’s Practices:
    The publisher of Cidades Verdes must support the editorial board in maintaining the journal’s ethical and scientific standards. This includes using plagiarism detection tools to identify and prevent unethical practices. The publisher is also responsible for taking prompt and appropriate corrective action in response to any confirmed allegation of misconduct, safeguarding the integrity of the journal and all parties involved.
