Abstract

Objective - To present damage mapping and restoration guideli­nes for a building listed by IPHAN in Olinda-PE, Brazil.

Methodology - A qualitative approach was used, including literature review, historical-architectural survey, and di­agnosis of pathologies.

Originality/Relevance - The study addresses the preservation of historical buildings, highlighting the importance of cultural heritage in urban areas.

Results - Inspections revealed significant deterioration, with cracks and detachment. The restoration guidelines pri­oritize authenticity and respect original materials.

Theoretical/Methodological Contributions - Enhances restoration practices with a methodology applicable to other historical properties.

Social and Environmental Contributions - Emphasizes the importance of preserving historical heritage for local cul­tural identity and promotes sustainable actions.
