Squares play a fundamental role as public spaces for socialization and leisure, but they are also important indicators of urban environmental quality. This study quantitatively and qualitatively evaluates the Praça do Estudante, located in Jardim Alegre, Paraná, with the aim of providing a detailed analysis of the condition and functionality of this public space. The methodology employed followed the approach of De Angelis et al. (2004), adapted to the current context, which includes a quantitative survey of the equipment and a qualitative assessment of its conservation. The research revealed that the square, located in the city center, plays a fundamental role in the socialization and leisure of the community, with an average conservation score of 2.79, indicating a generally good condition. However, equipment such as concrete benches and trash bins require additional maintenance. The presence of adequate lighting and free Wi-Fi stands out but also requires continuous improvements to ensure full functionality. The theoretical contributions include the practical application of De Angelis et al.'s (2004) criteria. From a social and environmental perspective, the research emphasizes the importance of maintenance and investment in public squares to strengthen infrastructure and manage public spaces, ensuring long-lasting benefits for the community.
