Objective – To analyze and synthesize the approaches, methods, and techniques employed to promote accessibility in museums and cultural attractions.
Methodology – A systematic literature review based on the PRISMA 2020 protocol, with searches conducted in the MDPI and Taylor & Francis databases, resulting in 17 selected articles.
Originality/Relevance – The study highlights methodological gaps and the geographic concentration of the works, underscoring the importance of expanding research in diverse contexts, such as Latin America.
Results – A predominance of data collection through questionnaires and interviews, limited use of systematic observation, and a focus on physical and intellectual disabilities, with less attention given to sensory disabilities and neurodivergence.
Theoretical/Methodological Contributions – Demonstrates the need for more integrated approaches and the potential of underexplored techniques, such as systematic observation, particularly in the evaluation of digital accessibility.
Social and Environmental Contributions – Reinforces the role of museums as agents of social inclusion by promoting practices that broaden access and audience diversity.
