The article aims to investigate the repercussion of contemporary restoration theory in Brazilian architectural practice, analyzing the specific case of the not yet executed restoration project for the Railway Station of Mairinque, in response to a public tender launched in 2014 by CONDEPHAAT-SP. The research methodology was divided into two stages. The first stage was dedicated to the study and reading of theoretical-critical writings of the field, investigating its assimilation in Brazilian territory. The second stage focused on the technical-operational analysis of the proposed intervention for the station, given its cultural and documental relevance for the country. As a result, it was verified to what extent the restoration project meets the demands imposed by the tender’s requirements and the deontology of the disciplinary field. A satisfactory conclusion was reached, with a projectual result in accordance to the field’s contemporary discussions.
