ISSN

In August 2006, the Brazilian ISSN Center (CBISSN) granted ISSN 1980-0827 to the journal "Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista", which at the time was distributed in physical format on CD-ROM and was already in its second edition. This stage marked a significant advance in the consolidation of the journal, which was dedicated to disseminating research of environmental and scientific relevance.

In February 2010, "Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista" took an important step towards modernization by migrating its publication to digital format using the Electronic Journal Publishing System (SEER). However, during this transition process, a technical oversight occurred: a new ISSN registration specific to the online format was not requested from CBISSN. This administrative lapse resulted in a discrepancy in the journal's registration, but the digital version was maintained until the situation could be rectified.

Recently, as part of the journal's internationalization process, it became necessary to update the English title variation with the CBISSN. During this update, a previous error related to the registration of the digital medium was identified, revealing the absence of a specific ISSN for the online version. Recognizing the importance of correcting this non-compliance and ensuring adherence to international publishing standards, a new ISSN for the journal was obtained.

With this regularization, "Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista" received ISSN 2966-2931 and was formally renamed "Periódico Eletrônico Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista", with the English title variation "Electronic Journal Environmental Forum of Alta Paulista". This new registration reflects the evolution and expansion of the journal's reach, now more aligned with contemporary scientific publication requirements and the expectations of the international academic audience. According to CBISSN's guidelines, all editions published from August 28, 2024, onwards will display both ISSN numbers (1980-0827 and 2966-2931) on all pages of the journal, including the new covers and published articles. This measure aims to preserve the journal's historical continuity while signaling its adaptation to the new demands and opportunities provided by the digital medium.
