Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the influence of the form of occupation of the territory on environmental conditions, with the aim of reducing the formation of Urban Heat Islands and increasing thermal comfort. The area chosen as the object of study is located in the center of Recife-PE. To prepare the diagnosis of the territory, the survey was carried out through field visits using the ESIG – Recife Geographic Information System as a basis for preparing the maps. From the data collected, it was possible to analyze the territory based on: the classification of Local Climatic Zones, the identification of Morphotypological Limits and the Environmental Indicator. Computer simulations were carried out using Autodesk Forma Software, which generated data that allowed a comparison between the different forms of occupation of the territory. Green corridors were inserted as a strategy to mitigate the effects of urbanization, which defined new scenarios that provided data to analyze the difference in air temperature and urban quality. These are strategies to reduce the formation of Urban Heat Islands also at the city scale.
