Academic Integrity Policy

The Revista Nacional de Gerenciamento de Cidades maintains an unwavering commitment to academic integrity, ensuring all submissions meet the highest ethical and scientific standards. As part of this commitment, the journal implements a rigorous policy to verify the originality and novelty of submitted manuscripts.

Preliminary Analysis – Originality and Novelty Verification

During the preliminary review stage conducted by an associate editor, the manuscript undergoes an evaluation process to guarantee originality and compliance with the journal's ethical guidelines.

Use of Anti-Plagiarism Software:

All manuscripts will be analyzed using specialized plagiarism detection tools such as Plagius or Turnitin®. These software solutions check content against an extensive database of online documents, identifying potential sections similar to previously published works.

Objectives of Verification:

  • Ensure the manuscript’s originality and novelty.

  • Detect any indication of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or excessive similarity to existing material.

  • Protect the copyright of authors and editors, maintaining the scientific credibility of the journal.

Actions in Case of Suspicion:

  • If high similarity or indications of plagiarism are identified, the associate editor will communicate the findings to the authors, requesting clarification or revisions.

  • Manuscripts confirmed as plagiarized will be rejected, and the author may be barred from future submissions, depending on the severity of the violation.

Confidentiality:

The verification process will be conducted confidentially, ensuring the privacy of information and respect for authors.

The journal's Academic Integrity Policy reflects its commitment to ethics, originality, and scientific quality, fostering a trustworthy environment for disseminating relevant and innovative knowledge. By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to strictly adhere to these guidelines.
