PRIVACY AND INFORMED CONSENT STATEMENT
In compliance with Law No. 13.709/18 – General Data Protection Law (LGPD), Articles 5, Section XII, 2, Section IV, and 4, Section II, Subsection b, the Periódico Eletrônico Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista clearly and transparently presents its Privacy Policy through this Privacy and Informed Consent Statement, ensuring respect for the use of personal data throughout the editorial workflow.
Privacy Policy
The personal data provided in the journal's system, such as names and addresses, will be used exclusively for services related to this publication. These data will not be shared with third parties, except for indexing in databases and directories, as established in the Copyright Declaration.
Consent for Data Processing
By submitting articles, authors authorize the Periódico Eletrônico Fórum Ambiental da Alta Paulista, as the data controller, to perform the following operations with their personal data: collect, use, access, transmit, anonymize, process, archive, store, delete, and evaluate.
Definitions of Each Data Processing Operation
Collect: During registration, the data provided by authors are recorded in the journal’s database. Sensitive data is not collected. Registration is voluntary, and the password created is personal and non-transferable.
Use: Data such as full name, institution, email (when authorized), and academic qualifications are used to compose information in published articles. These data are also considered criteria for evaluation by organizations such as CAPES/Qualis and indexers.
Email Usage: Emails are used to communicate about the editorial workflow, including reviews, publications, special calls, and updates to journal guidelines. The email may also be included in the published article, only with the author’s express authorization.
Access: Data is accessed during the review and update of metadata to avoid conflicts in DOI, Orcid ID, and Lattes Curriculum records.
Transmit: To ensure digital preservation, published issues are automatically transmitted to the LOCKSS System and digital repositories through the OAI-PMH protocol.
Anonymize: During the double-blind review process, any personal information in file properties is removed using appropriate tools. The same applies to comments made by reviewers on manuscripts.
Process: Submission data is processed in XML format or directly in the system for DOI generation by CrossRef, ensuring the article’s individualization and persistent link.
Archive: Data from published, rejected, or archived articles remain in the journal’s database and are transmitted to the LOCKSS System for digital preservation.
Store: All registration and submission data, including those related to deletion requests, remain stored in the journal’s system.
Delete: Registration data may have access blocked, especially in cases of plagiarism or self-plagiarism. Information in article file properties is deleted to preserve the integrity of the blind review process. Authors may request the deletion of their data at any time.
Evaluate: Submission data is reviewed to ensure compliance with DOI, Orcid ID, Lattes Curriculum, and indexing requirements. Updates can be requested by users or made directly in the profile.
Use of Images in Articles
All images submitted by authors, including photographs, tables, and figures, are reviewed to ensure compliance with copyright regulations. If proper authorization is not provided, the publication of the image will be prohibited.
User Consent
By submitting articles, authors agree freely, informedly, and transparently to the use of their personal data for the purposes described in this Privacy and Informed Consent Statement.
This statement may be updated due to changes in the LGPD or in the journal's data processing practices. Any changes will be widely communicated to users.
